Saturday Pickup Hours Change, Yecora Rojo is the new Country Loaf, and Price Bumps

April 28th, 2025
Good morning! I feel a mix of nervous anticipation and excitement at the thought of the Lafayette Farmers Market (aka “the LFM” because my fingers need to save their energy for making bread) starting this Sunday. We’ve been gearing up for this for months, and in some ways, it’ll be a relief to have it finally begin. I know the week will be chaotic, there will be some things we’ve missed, and yet ultimately the show will go on. (Click here for more information about the LFM.)
We are excited to meet some new people at the new market, but I find myself also thinking about those who've gotten us this far: our existing customers. We’d like to thank everyone who has stuck with us through another winter of pickups at the house and to welcome back those who are beginning to pick up at Cure. Hello to those who’ve recently joined the mailing list after hearing about us through the LFM’s outreach as well.
While this will be a year of growth for Daily Grains, we still remain committed to our core focus: providing the best, most nutritious bread and baked goods we can. There may be some growing pains, but we are still very much focused on our community and our "bread friends."
Now, some logistical items...I realize we're hitting you with a lot this week. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Regardless of whether you choose a Saturday pickup or to try out the new market on Sunday, we look forward to seeing you!

Saturday Pickups From 12-2 This Week
If you’re looking for baked goods this weekend, you’ll have two opportunities: preorders at the house on Saturdays or catching us at the LFM. We will not be at Cure’s farm stand this weekend in an attempt to give us some room for the unexpected with a new market. We will still do our preorders on Saturday, but we need to shift the hours to 12-2.
Yecora Is the New Country Loaf
It’s been awhile since we’ve had it on the menu, but we have a Country Loaf that features a regional grain (Turkey Red, Rouge de Bordeaux, or Spelt in the past). In an attempt to make our bread more approachable to new customers at the LFM and because of Yecora's popularity, the Country Loaf will be made with Yecora Rojo. Some of the grains we use have intimidating names, and this lets us use a customer favorite with our most basic loaf. If you preorder for Saturday, you'll see Yecora Rojo. If you get bread at the LFM, you'll get the same bread but named "Country Loaf."
Price Increases
After looking at the costs of what goes into our baked goods, we need to increase our prices. While we know everyone is getting hit by this, this will be the first time we’ve increased prices in over a year. We’ll spare you the details, but it’s a combination of increasing costs and a desire to avoid diminishing the quality of our products. Ultimately, we are still focused on growing Daily Grains to have a sustainable business once we have our bakery in its brick-and-mortar store on South Public Road.
