Daily Grains Weekly Update

Throwback photo of Cure Organic Farm's farm stand during the 2023 season. We're teaming up with Cure again this year and also offering a Bread Share.

We’ve somehow managed to get three snowy Saturday in a row…just wanted to say thanks for braving the weather for your baked goods. We also want to thank you for the referrals. We’ve had new customers each week this year, and it sounds like most of them have either been given a loaf of bread or heard about Daily Grains from an existing customer. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support.

We don’t have a new product this week (though we're bringing back Spelt as it was popular), but we can tell you that we’re working on a new bread that includes oat flour and a bit of maple syrup. While we don’t typically add sugar to our bread doughs, the maple adds a nice aroma and hint of flavor while the oat flour provides a texture closer to sandwich bread. We hope to have it ready soon (the next trial bake will be on Tuesday, fingers crossed).

Lastly, we want to make getting bread easier and know it’s not always convenient to remember to order each week. With this in mind, we’re launching two programs, one this week and one in the near future: our 2024 Bread Share with Cure Organic Farm and our Monthly Bread Club in Lafayette.

Daily Grains Bread Share at Cure Organic Farm

This is a 20-week share that will run from June to October in tandem with Cure’s CSA Shares. You’ll get a loaf of bread each week (Large and Small Shares to correspond with our large and small loaves plus a choice of bread variety).

This is designed for those who don’t want to order bread each week or arrive later in the day for their CSA pickup when bread is sometimes sold out.

To learn more, you can view our FAQs page here. If you’re ready to give it a shot, you can sign up for a bread share here. Ultimately, we want you to be happy with your experience and hope this streamlines the process for those who need it.

Cure Organic Farm's 2024 CSA Program

If you’re not familiar with Cure’s CSA (or “Community Supported Agriculture” in general), members purchase a "share" of the produce for the growing season, committing to financially support the farm. This covers early-season costs such as seeds, water, equipment, and labor. In return, the farm provides members with freshly picked seasonal produce. This model ensures the survival and growth of local agriculture by sharing the farm's risks and bounty, with members becoming active participants in the farm's success and community.

Cure offers small, medium, and large shares of veggies along with shares of eggs, fruit, tea, coffee, and flowers. You can find more specifics on the share types here. The farm also offers a CSA Card that allows you to shop any day of the week for anything at the farm stand (dairy, meat, honey, etc in addition to the fruits and vegetables).
