Good morning! We are back from a restful vacation, after which we dove straight into preparing for yesterday's farmers market. I feel a little uneven after that, like walking the granite breakwater in that photo.

We did have a good vacation with some hiking, beach time, excellent food, a little reading on a rainy day, and a chance to try a couple of bakeries (Standard Baking Co. in Portland was our favorite). Thanks to Meghan for taking care of our starter and the beginning of the levain that became yesterday's bread. Also, thanks to Stacey and Walt for taking such good care of Scout in our absence.
 
And now on to bakery matters for the week...you'll find our Country Sourdough Bread on the menu below, and that will feature a blend of Spelt, Yecora Rojo, and Turkey Red. In addition to our usual locations and dates (Saturday pickups at our house, Saturday baked goods at Cure Organic Farm, and Sunday's Lafayette Farmers Market), I will be back at the farm stand this Wednesday.
