pARTiculars Art Gallery and Teaching Studio, located at 401 South Public Road in Lafayette, held its second annual holiday art fair through December 11, 2022. The 14-year-old cooperative gallery showcased paintings, jewelry, pottery, and fiber arts from local artists. The gallery operates with six owner-artists and ten members who staff the gallery, teach classes, and sell their work on commission. Co-owner Peter Steele noted that the space is an artist owned, cooperative gallery. In response to the Marshall Fire disaster, pARTiculars offered free art classes to affected community members. Steele explained the rationale: art can be therapeutic and healing. Member artist Laurie Adams added that creating art can help maintain memories, even when something is no longer there. Classes emphasized hands-on learning, with Adams teaching watercolor techniques to beginners.
