The Lafayette-based WOW! Children's Museum was selected as one of 20 children's museums nationwide to participate in Nurturing Numeracy Skills and Math Literacy in Children's Museums, a program created through a partnership between the Association of Children's Museums and the Simons Foundation. The museum learned of its acceptance in November 2024. Current additions include a teller station in the bank exhibit where children can sort play money, and a bank vault feature with lockboxes that children unlock by solving math problems to win small prizes. The museum plans to expand math learning opportunities across additional programs and exhibits in 2026. WOW! is one of only two Colorado children's museums in the program, alongside Buell Children's Museum in Pueblo.
