Good morning! Despite the autumn weather this week, we are in peak produce season. As I sit here writing the newsletter, I'm struck by the colors on our kitchen island: Santa Rosa plums from First Fruits, peaches from Ela Family Farms, and tomatoes from Cure Organic Farm, Switch Gears Farm, and Red Wagon Farm. (Can you tell I love tomatoes?)

If I'm allowed to give a homework assignment here, I'd encourage you to stop by a farm stand or farmers market this week. You'll get the best (and by best, I mean, "tastiest, most nutritious") produce available, grown by people who actually care about the quality of what you eat. I know this because I work alongside them on Wednesdays and the weekends, plus I know that we at Daily Grains also think about our customers as we aim to bake the best bread possible.

Speaking of bread, we milled the last Kernza we had for last week's bread. It sold out on both Wednesday and Sunday. If that’s something you’d like us to continue having, let us know. If there’s enough interest, we’ll try to get our hands on more of it. 

Two things to note on the menu below: we're bringing back the Kamut Sesame Sourdough Bread a little earlier than usual in the rotation as we've had several customer requests for it. We've also decided to lean into this fall weather and bring back the Cinnamon Pecan Sourdough Bread a little earlier than planned. Even if the afternoon temperatures warm up next week, it'll be perfect for toasting during the cooler mornings for breakfast.
